From a conversation that generated in chat, it has come to light that perhaps our level up rewards are somewhat, if not grossly lacking in keeping us dedicated to seeking that next level. For example, a level 10 reward for leveling up is no different than that of a 100 or a 400 for that matter. So, in retrospect to that, I had a thought…

Leveling Rewards-

Every 5 levels:

This would detail a random drop, energy units, training points, donuts, modifications, etc. This would be commensurable to level of the player. All of these levels would still get the +2 skill points. This would be levels 5/10/15/20

Every 10 levels:

The same rewards as the above leveling but with the extra dropping of a random booster for 3 to 7 days. There would be a 10 point pay off for skill points. This would be levels: 10/20/30

EXAMPLE:

Someone leveling up to level 20 would get: An item drop/a skill booster/+10 skill points

Someone else leveling to 20 might get: 5 training points/a skill booster/+10 skill points

Someone leveling to 25 would get: An item drop/+2 skill points.

Someone else leveling to 25 might get: 50 energy/+2 skill points

I feel the reason people don’t dedicate themselves to leveling, is, quite frankly, +2 skill points is a joke to work as hard as you do to get a level (especially in the later parts of the game). But, with a reward system that is fair across the board, adding more benefits to leveling, it may make people stay on longer, and furthermore, hang around the game to reap the benefits.

I disagree.

At level 249, Hero gets 10 points of skills per 10 training points. You just didn't hit it yet, Dwerp ;)

At level 300 you get last zone.

Although, past that point, yeah, people don't care much for leveling up. There is no extra goal.

PS: It happens everywhere. So when you reach one goal, you end up figuring out whether/how you want to continue.;)

Actually I have hit it, and passed it, and I stand by my statement that leveling is grossly underrated.

The point being, beyond the new areas and after 300 that's even moot, leveling is generic.

For everyone.

Why not add the chance to get an item? Extra energy? boosters?

We work to level our characters (for the most part) and get a mere +2 skill points.

Every game I have ever played had some benefit to every level up (not just milestones). Some would instantly refill your energy. Others would give you an item or unlock abilities or areas.

here every level, with the noted exceptions is +2. Thats why most people quit before 249. There is no reward to play and level, extra incentive.

I respect your viewpoint. I just think leveling up should be a noted moment to the gamer and not a passing fancy. Make the gamer strive for the level up instead of popping on, collecting daily, readying for battles.. logging off.
