Im a level 88 1/2  and has a sidekick that is a level 20 how do you train or when can you train your sidekick a new trick??

You must have two sidekicks ,  one to train ( recieve new skill)   and one who gives the skill away.

The one you train must be level 30

The one you take the skill from can be just leveled to where the skill you want to take is opened. 

The sidekick that gives the skill will dissapear

The sidekick you give the skill to will start again at level 1 but will be reset to match your hero , so , it will end up stronger after you level it to level 30.

how do you get your second sidekick and when if they give it to you

You can train a pet at any level. The sidekick you take the training from must have enough levels to have the skill you seek. You can only take one skill even from a level 30 donor pet. Once the skill is taken that pet disappears. There are a few ways to receive pets, you can buy "Slimer" at the store for real money. You can buy one at the second hand shop for donuts or coin, depending, or you can get one in a 15 donut surprise box. Also pets are often received as prizes, such as last hit on a villain.

You can have sidekicks as rewards for missions also.

Jagan is correct you can train any level, so you can train a level 1 sidekick, teach it the skills you want before even beginning to level the pet.

Don't forget pets for coins in the second hand shop. They are less rare than the hammer of insanity/insomnia etc...

                                           This is random but can be rewarded SideKick. Just have to defeat the villain. More attacks you have, better chance at receiving one.

                                           As reward for completing all Tasks for event

     7    Regular Missions   

                                          Saved this one for last. It is very rare to find in missions.

 

  I believe that is all the possible ways to acquire a sidekick. If I missed one, please feel free to add to the list.

 

 

 

PS: Will receive a free "common" sidekick when reaching level 60. Also remember to click on pet to activate it.

It requires 2 sidekicks to train one, the one that is being trained and the one training. The one that is training the other must be at a level to have that skill available to it already. It can then take 1 of any skills it is currently able to use and teach it to the other sidekick. When this happens, the other sidekick gets that skill in the same area as it was in the one who trained it, and the skill that was previously there disappears. Then the sidekick that trained the other one disappears permanently. This whole process costs 15 donuts to accomplish.
