Don't like team chat where it has been moved to as i have to keep lowering screen view to see it, i would like them to move it back, also i don't see any notification that any of my team has chatted not like the old way when the shield flashed to let you know

Completely agree with spark1. As it is placed now, you have to scroll up and down to see the chat. How is the phone-version working out for people?

I think this update is for phone version where everything is fine, accessibility, good position, functionality. I like it.

I think the phone app's placement is great. I did have trouble when I switched servers, the chat got stuck on my AP1 team while I was playing on my US3 hero.

Anyway, on the computer I believe that this is an issue of resolution. I can play the game and fit it all into my browser when using a 1440p resolution. When I revert to 1080p, it doesn't fit on my screen.

I think a broadcast mail to the player base would have helped a lot regarding the chat change.  Hiding the icons down in the corner is a little bit on the subtle side.  (Had I not noticed the progress indicator below the clipboard and the new costume items, it wouldn't even have occurred to me that there was an update.)  

 

I predict a lot of "what happened to team chat?" messages on the boards.

I'm reserving judgment on the new placement of the team chat until after we set a new team fight. I am curious how many players will continue to check in for fights if they don't need to go into chat to do so.

PC PLAYER THOUGHTS:

I am okay with the new team chat function and the placement, except the size.  I have to scroll down if I use a large window, so I reduced the overall game screen to keep an eye on chat. I do, as others mentioned, have concerns about check in's.

 

It would also have been nice if with this update you had an open channel type chat. 

Example: 1 tab is club only, the second tab is online players. 3rd could be private chats (where you could invite a friend or group of friends)

 

Still, I like the new chat as I don't have to keep clicking back to the team room.

The chat placement is terrible, it would be fine where it's moved to if when you went to your team page it was still there also, please change back or allow you to go to the team page to view it as well.

 

Also don't like the achievement tracker, kept popping up and taking up most the screen when I moused over it so I had to disable it.

Well, it's okay for playing on PC I guess but it seems to cause problems for folks on mobile devices. I do think that you should be sending mail to all players with the Update notes though. Plenty of people don't use the Forum and thought that Team Chat had been removed.

This is such a huge issue.  If you want the chat to stop 100% in team chat, they just got it.  I log in on my phone, which has a huge screen and the team bubble chat covers the screen for the fights.  I can't hit skip, nothing.  I am not watching the entire 3 fights, who cares.  As for chat, even on a computer you have to sit there and scroll your web browser down to see a line or so.  It doesn't show the whole conversation, if you want to see that, well you have to stop doing anything on the game because it takes the entire screen.  What a huge way to wreck the game.

 

As for where the bubble is, it is right above the log out button.  That button already is so small and hard to hit.  Now you try to hit it, you get the team chat bubble up.  Give us the option.  We see it in team chat or if you prefer have it there.  There has been very limited chat today now.  

 

On the phone, I get all 3 server chat intermixed.  So I see a line from US1, one from US2 and 1 from US3.  

 

Why don't they fix real things and stop wrecking the game more.

I just logged in and went directly to my team to see how our fights had gone.  Chat had vanished but I found the bubble instantly...

 

Move it back to where it was or give us an option of old way or new way.

Playing on Desktop in windowed mode through Steam.

Enjoying meself and new chat.

Everyone else hates it for the reasons described above.

I like the option of opening the chat in the screen I'm in when it flashes.... however... I find that the chat box opens up over the game fights and league fights even when not clicked. It can't be minimized and is kind of annoying since its over the button to skip the fights.

I have now used the chat a few days and my final judgement is that it is horrible. My heart breaks everytime I have to scroll down to see whether anyone has written anything there. I am in general getting less and less involved in the social aspect of the game because of it. If you cannot reverse the decision, let us also have the previous chat placement. Why remove it? The space is there!

The issue needs to be fixed, not reversed. We need to move forward.

I honestly hope HZ will fix it... although it makes we wonder why they screwed it up right from the start... Putting update as a half finished product is ...

No hate! I said if they do not want to reverse it, they can simply let us have the chat as it was. You can scroll up and down all you want, but many people don't want to, understandably.
