As we are once again in this Herocon for Special Missions can someone please explain the process for how these fights (win/loss) are determined?

Here is my basis/scenario:

I have not done ANY special missions since the last Herocon. Therefore allowing my character the ability to level, but leaving the special mission bosses where they previously were.

Enter Herocon.

Most bosses are now, 5 to 10 levels below my current level. All should be available to attack to help my team.

Fight one: Boss 233. I am 239. I lose. Boss is now 250. (17 level jump)

Fight two: Boss is 236 I am 239 I win. Next boss: 262 (26 level jump)

Fight three: boss is 231 I am 239. I lose Boss is now 250 ( 19 level jump)

Fight four: Boss is 229  I am 239. I lose Boss is now 263 (34 level jump)

The only scenario this did not happen: Boss is 233 ,I am 239 I lose. Boss remained 233. This is ONLY instance I have saw this happen.

I went through every special mission like this.. save for one... all of them I lost. All of them jumped mass levels. I now have no shot at helping on this Herocon because everything is way out of my capability to attack. Sadly, even though I had leveled intentionally waited on special missions to help my team.. I lost, horribly.

I really don't understand how this works out, how it is even possible to be honest. The only thing I can figure is that winning has nothing to do with stats, missiles or sidekicks but a random flip of a coin of chance.

Actually I think I would have won more with a coin. If not at least I could have had something else to throw at the boss.  (lol)

Can someone explain to me how this is probable?

Thanks!

Specials should be run all the time. They don't stay then same they are based on your current level. Remember that the target doesn't have missiles or a sidekick. You can defeat them way above your level because of that. Some people use a strip down and add approach. I never have understood so I fight level 1 on 3 specials, then level 2, then level 3, then level 4. Level 5 and 10 are toughest. If I lose I wait and try again except for 5 and 10 I usually win in the first 3 tries then I win 4 or 5 in a row

I actually completed all nine SMs and waited to re-activate them for this HeroCon. In each one, the first mission was equal to my current level (266). The second mission in all SMs are 278/279. I'm 50/50 for whether I lose the mission or not.

My original thought was that the item reward affected the difficulty of the fight, eg. if the item is Common, you would have an easier time than if the item was Epic. But this is pretty hit-or-miss, too.

At the last Special Mission HeroCon, a former team member mentioned something about removing your sidekick, reducing your Stamina skill, waiting until the next day...I think. Unfortunately, their English wasn't great, and they left the team a week later.  :| So I have no idea if there's any tricks or not in defeating the SMs.

Same as everything in this game (see other topics from me here). You improve your character but it's no use.

https://forum.us.her...more-enjoyable/

You get better and the characters/opponents in the special missions get better.

You improve your workshop, but the items you win just get worse.

So all in all most of your improvements are zeroed out or worse.

There is a trick to fight against the bosses of special missions. Before fighting take away the pet, missiles, and the clothes that give you strength and stamina, so you will fight against them, being very weak. Then the bosses will also be weak since they always copy your skills.

After fighting once or twice in this way, in the next fight put on the entire equipment and you will win, because they expects you remain weak :D.

But, with all the equipment complete or without them, after 3 or 4 fights you will win, because the system readjusts the difficulty so that you can win, even if the bosses has more abilities than you. You just have to be patient :)

I haven't tried Maky's way, but that is all I hear about SMs. Don't be afraid to lose, you will eventually.

For me, it is troublesome, because I don't have that much time to wait 1 hour, lose and wait again.

You don't have to wait a whole hour, if you can watch an add you can cut 30mins of wait time. Still a lot of time but better than 60mins.
