I dont know if it was just the picture and will find out when I finish the event but any special event prizes should have a modification slot. If your going through so much to earn a prize in a few days that prize should be usable and since most people have modification slots on their items even with it being epic its not going to beat a modification slot item with an epic and maybe even a rare mod in it.
