Ok someone had to start this so I guess I will be the one. 

 

There may have been people cheating but surely you can see who those people were and you can punish them. I also realize you have to fix the loophole that was found so changing the Herocon was the only option however for those of us who spent the last day building bots the RIGHT WAY and had high scores to take all of that effort away from us is wrong. You should have transferred the legal scores over to this Herocon or at the very least just not done one for the week because many people burned up their energy for today already so now you put those teams at a disadvantage and Herocon because of the bonus it gives should be level across the board as to time allowed to play. This change a day and a half into the Herocon is unacceptable also those who were cheating should receive some form of punishment like a reset of all of their pets to level 1.

They were not cheating though. They were playing within the parameters of the game and the hero con. No punishment should be given. Unless you know of cheating ie hacking into the server and changing the code.


The huge problem is you should have started the new hero con at the reset. A lot of people have used their energy or a majority of their energy now. Huge disadvantage.

Also every game I have ever played online if a issue like this cane up they gave everyone a small gift to make it better for the inconvenience. Like here everyone should receive 20 donuts or something. That's called customer service because whether hero zero wants to act like it or not WE ARE CUSTOMERS.

they should have suspended HC tournament for this week, and give everyone 15 free skill points

 

and yes, technically they never cheated, they just took advantage of a glitch and never took time to report it, specially when it was a HUGE glitch 100K in less than 2 days ? sheeezzzz

 

they should give everyone a free 7 day 50% skills booster to make up for effort many teams made to get points Thursday and early Friday

hero zero can send mass mailing to our mail about "earn free donuts"   and   events happening and  "happy whatever day" (deal in the donut shop)

Somehow hero zero did not send us mail about this glitch and reset , leaving many confused and searching for an answer .  

Also ,   many start at  reset and put much time into the weekly contest .   When they reset in the middle of the  contest week many are not prepared for this and were off line when the new contest came up.

I would have rather seen herocon suspended for the rest of the week  with no new challenge happening.   Give the rewards to the teams who did  not have players who were exploiting the glitch.

Oh they did send a message in the confusing mail system in that little arrow you click to see hero zero mail they did tell us the current one was suspended and they are working on a solution.

So this has been a massive disadvantage to some teams. It is not a fair way to resolve the situation at all. And they did cheat because you should report bugs and those people didn't do that. They chose to exploit it in a massive way and that is cheating. Cancel this whole con and wait till next week if you are in anyway serious about this being a fair game. Punish the cheaters.

The user is only allowed to use the service offer with not more than one account per game world (server) of Hero Zero. This means that it shall not be possible for a registered user to open a new account in the same game world unless the previous account has been deleted. The creation and keeping of several accounts in the same game world (multi-accounts) is prohibited. Such multi-accounts can be blocked and deleted at any time without previous warning at Playata's own discretion.

 

The user shall be prohibited from using the login data of another user.

 

The user undertakes to contact the operator directly if there is a suspicion that third parties have obtained or might have obtained the login data without authorization. If a suspicion of abuse or a risk of abuse exists, Playata shall be permitted to block the accounts involved temporarily until the suspicion has been eliminated.

 

Manipulative interventions in the service offers are prohibited. These include, in particular, the use of software and mechanisms disturbing the service offers or procuring an unfair advantage over fellow players to the user. Among other things, the creation and/or use of hacks, mods, cheats, bots, data-mining tools and automated browser plugins shall be prohibited.

 

 

I beg to differ.... These are taken from the Terms of Conditions.  They found an exploit and used to their advantage.  Maybe Playata needs to start enforcing their terms of conditions more effectively.  In this case, blame they players that exploited the system for the change.  We only can do the best that we can because of the change.

I read the above nothing says that using the game rules is cheating.

They were storing the warehouses and making more robots. No hack, no cheat bot, no mods etc. No second accounts.

a good lawyer will argue there is a difference between using an outside source to get in and take advantage and using a glitch created by the company itself and that

 

"Manipulative interventions in the service offers are prohibited." is an action inserted that is foreign to the administrators, namely Playata. and we can't punish a person for using tools to its advantage provided by the administrators and the person never inserted any foreign object or action to the programming if it is not specifically prohibited in its bylaws ( like in the case of multi-accounts per specific user in one server prohibited but the administrator allows accounts in same server as long as it does not have same email address, and users might have more than 1 email account, so  the administrators  are technically giving a possible tool to users that could had been used except it was specifically prohibited.

​​I don't suppose that the players who detected this bug, which they used to their advantage reported this to support.  Hence how some team had 100,000 points.

but now that rule has a better chance to hold for the bot storage bug

But i think that a lot of people are confused by what they changed the Herocon to, because i have been attacked by about 50 people so far today, which leads me to believe that people are thinking that the Herocon has to do with duels when it does not, it's fighting missions. Sometimes i wish that people would do a little more thinking every so often.

Well I am not defending anyone as it caused problems but I don't think it was a bug. The hideout was working the way it is supposed to. The developers didn't foresee this as a possibility and will change the code and rules but the hideout was working exactly how it was supposed to work. No bug.

We went thru this type of thing before.  There was a glich that people used  and didn't report.  The part about gliches in the TOS was there last time.  I remember checking it when we went thru this previously.  

 

So bottom line---You see a glich you must report it.  If you don't, you are cheating according to the TOS.  

 

I think it is fair to ask for a fair way of dealing with the glich.  Something that does not penalize those who were not cheating.

can someone from higher power of playata clarify something?

 

there is some confusion at the servers in US ( all 3 as I am in all 3 )

 

some people think it was that some people closed the def room ( one with robot gun ) and also closed the improvement room ( making fight bots go down to level 1 stats ) and thus cutting minutes to build them  and some people got mad as some teams used good strategic use of tools given jumped out of the gate and had 1 or 2 thousand points advantage over 2nd place.........that IS NOT A GLITCH, just smart use and nothing else

 

while some say it was use of certain teams of an actual glitch when they stored the bot storage room and somehow (as storage room was full ) the bots that were there kept counting toward herocon and is why a team had 100,000 HC points in JUST 1 day

It was not a glitch. The game was working the way it was designed. Not a bug. Poor prior testing by the development team? Yes. But it was not a glitch, it was not a bug. There was nothing to report. It worked the way it was designed to work.


I put away my defense post in order to get more attacks in order to produce more defense robots. Was it a glitch or a bug I should have reported when my hideout allowed me to store the room?

if it was storing defense room and/or the fight bot improvement room, it is not a glitch PLUS on order to get 100,000 points in one day, it would take most of the team constantly being in the hideout to keep building bots and using donuts to speed things even more

 

if it was the storage room ( where one can store 200 bots ), and somehow those bots counted? than it is a glitch they did not see it before, as bot building was not part of HC until very recently

Normally we don't have to tell you what exactly happened - but what I can tell you is, that it was possible because of a bug, to produce 200 bots per second with the robot warehouse without using donuts.

 

On some servers single players had over 100.000 Con points in 5 minutes.

 

The Fighting Bot Improvement Unit was not concerned.
