like micro-managing the idea of stat booster. though you shouldnt be able to just buy them,
but maybe rather have 3 free uses a day.
pure stat boosts wouldnt really make your hero more unique though really.
otherwise, superpowers are similar to the "pet" idea
neither should imho just be another way of adding stats in 1 certain area (boring, nothing new in the tacticts dept, benefits may even scale with lvl, boring as well)
superpowers or pets would be a great way to add some strategy or plain fun....
fun / extra ideas
- be able to spy on other teams donations
- be able to change whipstitch another players clothes (=prank), reverts after 1h
-
-
-
game relevant ideas
- thief specialist- able to steal a few coins directly off the duell opponent
- villain specialist- reduce villain hit time by 25%
- training specialist- reduce training time by 25%
- mission specialist - 1 free ability to recycle available missions
- duell specialist - courage replenishes 10% faster
- investor specialist - access to savings account
(generate coins from bank - if the bank feature is introduced for all players, interest on saving could be higher for banking specialist)

An example of what I think would be cool would be one where every 10 levels you get a point which can be put into a skill in one of the talent trees you've chosen.
something like this: (Obviously these aren't balanced, just spitballing here)
Ice Control
Cold Gaze - Your attacks slowly freeze your opponent, making them easier to hit and dodge (Reduces your opponent's effective intuition by (your level)/3*skill level
Ice Slick - Your intuition is increased by 2% per skill level
Blizzard - Every 3 turns you unleash a blizzard, dealing (your level) * (4 + Skill level * 2) damage per turn. Blizzard lasts until your opponent hits you twice.
And if we wanted something more fitting with the "not really all that super" theme
Weapon "Master"
Way of the Sword - Your opponent's dodge cap is reduced by 1% per skill level (max level 10)
Hanzo Steel - Your Critical attacks deal 5% * Skill level more damage
This is totally a ninja technique and not just random flailing - Randomly (33%), your attacks will proc this ability. Your attack will do 30% (+2 per skill level) more damage, will automatically crit, but will have a 50% (- 2 per skill level) chance to miss regardless of your int stat. Max level 5

If there are super powers there should also be cool effects to go along with the charcter. For example if you become a fire hero/villain you get flames around you that grow bigger and more intense as you progress and for ice you have frost. Thiefs could have a snide smirk that grows more more evil. Sword master could have pathetic sword that gets more epic. With this I think that they should all have weaknesses as well i.e. fire vs ice and ranged vs swordsman.

I dont think this is an immediate game changer because I think that the powers should be added way down the line maybe even at the softcap of 250 so as to add much more complexity to the veterans of the game. and one way that they could cut down on graphics is to restrict players to gear that can only be worn by that specific power. For example Fire clothing would have to be minimal and be flame resistant and ice would have to wear gear that would be thick and freeze proof. This would cut down on graphics that need to be developed 100 fold. As for changing the concept would be entirely up to how they do it because there is no reason you can preserve the nerdiness of there look and personality. Sometimes nerds become bad ass like I don't know if you watch Big Brother but Ian on this season was really strange and nerdy and ended up being really badass and won the season.

A talent tree would be cool , this would be a good thing to spend donuts on as well.... Come to think about it , how about a skil that gives a free mubers of donuts each day?
I have a skill that does that....oh wait, that's the bakery down the street.

I don't think the devs would be down with this, since donuts are their primary income from the game.
I don't like it either because it would be a necessity to get for every free player. Even 1 donut a day would be 70% of a mission booster each week.
An alternative could be for a skill that would allow you to speed up one mission/training once per day for free or something like that. People rarely use their donuts for those purposes anyway, so I don't see the harm in it.

Yeah definitely, if there are going to be abilities like that then they shouldn't give you something of actual money value but rather should give you the ability to do some of the specific things that donuts can do but definitely not all of what a donut can do. I think that there should be certain things that you can only do with donuts.

Power Name/Effect/Resist/Weakness/Bonuses (Max Power Level purchasable is 25 with Coin, 50 with Doughnut, Player gets first power selection at Lvl 25 and 2nd at 75.)
Fire Power / Adds Fire Damage (+1 Point per Power Level) / Increases resistance to Fire (+1% Fire Damage Reduction) / Double Damage from Ice Power / +0.5% Chance (Per Level of Power) to ignite victim inflicting 1/2 Powers Skill Level in Damage per turn
Ice Power / Add Cold Damage (+1 Point per Power Level) / Increase resistance to Cold (+1% Cold Damage Reduction) / Double Damage from Fire Power / +0.5% Chance (Per Level of Power) to freeze victim slowing there attack speed +1% (per Level of Power)
Mind you this is just a rough idea and only 2 powers out of a limitless amount, as to the images it could be simply set up as a different foreground for the character adding Flames or Icicles etc etc. There would be no real limit on the powers, the imagination would be the limit and obviously they would not be able to be TOO over powered
Speaking of over powered a way to solve any type of issues with that would be to add further resists, allowing a player to increase there resistances to powers and effectivly making the special abilities of said powers harder to land. These reistances could be bought up to a say 25% with coins and to a maximum of 75% with Doughnuts in ONE Reists and 50% in the other ones. You could go with the Elemental tree for Powers/Reists as well, if your unsure what that is I simple ment the base elements like Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Light and Shadow. If a power could be catagorized into one of those 6 places then.... Well this is just my thoughts on it anyway LOL

I think that this is a good idea although I dont think fire should both be strong and weak against ice. I think that the powers should cycle and and every power should only have one weakness plus I think that as you level up not only should you be able to upgrade your powers but als learn a new power. So this way you can have a fire lightning guy who can over come his weakness of water.
power/weakness
water/lightning
fire/water
ice/fire
air/ice
earth/air
lightning/earth
