A man travels to China and visits the Shaolin Temple to observe the world famous Fighting Monks there. He sees them do all kinds of acrobatic tricks like handstand push-ups, and one handed hand stands. He is informed that each of the monks practice for many years, in some cases decades to achieve the feats of strength they accomplish. Then he is shown to one monk who first stands on two hands, then one, then on two fingers and finally on one finger. The man then returns home and immediately, without any practice or training, stands on two hands, then one, then on two fingers and then on one, in front of an audience of his friends and colleagues. How, without any previous practice or training is he able to accomplish such a feat?

For the record, the above trick has garnered me quite a bit of cash from fellow gamblers I've come across. Also, while this trick isn't in Amarillo Slim's autobiography, and was instead 1st done by me, Slim's book taught me the mindset needed to become a good proposition gambler. I recommend it to anyone who likes training their mind in ways of thinking outside the box. It is called "Amarillo Slim in a World Full of Fat People" (Fat meaning rich). In case you don't know, Amarillo Slim Preston is America's greatest proposition gambler in history and is whom I named my son, Preston, after. He was the ring leader of a 3 member team of famous gamblers that included the now legendary Doyle Brunson, whom many hail as the grandpappy of poker even though Slim was actually better. He held 3 different World Champion Poker titles, he beat both the Men's World Tennis champion AND the Chinese World Ping Pong champion in a game of Ping Pong, he beat Minnesota Fats in billiards, he hosted the Miss America pageant, and he even had Escobar gift him emerald buttons from his mine for Slim's shirts. Robbers returned things stolen from him when they robbed poker games he was in, because he was that famous and well liked. He's a personal hero of mine and even though many of you have never heard of him, in the 70's, everyone had. He broke the barrier between dark, smoke filled, backroom gamblers and American hero. It was considered an honor to lose money in a bet to the man, if you can imagine that, and it will be a long time before the world sees another like him. If the devil made a wager against Slim, I'd put my money in a side wager on Slim.
