I see that I have some now (curlers) and that they are being used. I don't know how I'm using them or how they hel.

Missiles provide additional damage during combat (which you can check under your strength stat). They are only used up whenever you duel/fight other heroes. Since they can be depleted, some heroes try their best to save them for team fights.
When it comes to havoc, no one wreaks like me!
