plus many team that are only 1 player, they have to either have 10 sections to do ( 10 x 10 = 100 x 1 point per each = 100 needed to qualify )

 

or have to have at least 5 sections, do them all Thursday, than wait till Tuesday to do it again to get the needed 100 points

i am all for removing it 

 

however I am sure there are more teams doing it than the few showing up now.. you have to have 100 points to show in the rankings and its only been going on for half a day there will be more who show up but yes it is one of the harder ones to do and with the cool down of an hour for a loss and 4 days when you finish it that really does take team members out of being able to help especially if they are stuck on the boss or on the 5th spot in them and even if you spent donuts are not going to kill them quickly.

I like special missions, it's a great way to boost your character. If you don't do them weekly you lose xp, coins, donuts and items. So my vote is to not remove from herocon, being there force players to see the advantages of them. There r many players who didn't complete them usually.

main issues is for teams with just 1 or 2 players ( or just 1 or 2 actives ) and not many sections to do of special missions

 

they can't do 100 points even if they clear them twice in the week

 

a simple solution is to give 3 points per completed fight instead of just 1

I don't like them a part of the con because after you beat so many you come to a stand still for a bit. You have to spend so much & take a lot of time trying to gain the skill points needed to beat another round of the bad guys & then it's back at another stand still. I love the special missions, just not as a part of the hero con.

as someone who plays in all 3 servers.................................

 

the  more teams able to make 100 points( and qualify ) the more skill points and buffs won by the teams, by the middle pack

 

just look what happens ( when task is easy ) as reward for team 12th to 20th in US2 ( less teams qualify ) vs US3 ( more teams qualify )

 

right now  as US1 issue was solved, only 1 team qualified

 

US2 has only 8 and is likely only 2 or 3 more will, US3 has 12 already and should barely get in the 20s ( when tasks are easy, there is about 35 teams qualifying, sometimes we get into 40s )

special missions as a herocon task is the most assinine thing that was ever conceived.    unless you keep on winning, which is statistically impossible, you win maybe as an estimated number 3 and then have to wait an hour till you can do it again. it doesn't make any sense, my team in the 2 times that the special mission herocon was introduced have never even placed at all in it, i mean how in the hell are you supposed to be able to make 100 unless you throw donuts at the problem, and i don't have the donuts to throw, i use them for useful things like team expansion missiles for duels and things like that, so from me you get an enthusiastic vote to discontinue, thank you.  forgive me, but i just felt the need to vent... thank you for your patience.

there might be a way to make it easier, but if people reveal that way, HZ might decide ( after people complain that is "unfair" )  that it is cheating and not being clever with the tools given, and stop allowing it, just like they doing with the honor tournaments

 

than again, maybe they won't as herocon awards does not involve donuts given away, just skill points and team buff

I always do min90 points from SM. Usually my team has>1000-1500 points.

I have to agree with Phnyx. It is almost impossible to contribute to the team doing SM for me (the levels and skills are too high for me to bother with).

On the other hand, lower levels have a blast And if not for them or the players that don't do SMs at all, our team would be in 0's.

 

PS: I don't understand the point of discussing 1-3 player teams.

I can't even win more than one or two Special Missions at at time - sometimes 3 if the AI is being particularly nice to me. As soon as you win one the difficulty ramps up and even if you scrape by on that fight, you can never get the one after that and have to wait until you've levelled up about 10 or 15 levels before trying again. I generally ignore the Special Missions for long stretches, simply because it's impossible to win them. When there's a Hero Con for them I try, but the most I've managed to contribute to my team in a while week is about 8 points.

How? How can you possibly win 90 missions in one single week? Unless you spend a boatload of doughnuts. Is there some trick I'm not aware of?

You can make 180 special missions in one week, if timing is good.

The opponent at special missions copys your skills and add a bit. He get skills when you start first one. So if you stuck in special missions it is hard.
But if you start first it can work:
Opponent has no missiles and no sidekick. So you have to make fight longer, your sidekick can work.
This means you need low damage and strenght, high stammia. Use no weapon but use missiles. Collect a stammia-set for doing special missions and a level 30 sidekick with high stammia and no brain.
if you have really low strenght, it is easy to go through special missions

I used to like Special Missions, but they seem to have changed the algorithm for figuring out the difficulty of opponents. Several of my team members (including myself) used to be able to fly through them using the low Strength/high Stamina trick, but now we are getting stuck and unable to complete them.
