OK i understand that ya'll need to make money and everything, but i HAVE to buy donuts before i donate them to the team i founded?!  Is there any way HeroZero might be able to change that?  It gives a VERY, VERY unfair advantage to the teams who buy donuts.

thanks,

Inidigo

I just found this topic, I just posted my own question about donating doughnuts to the team. I have plenty on hand, but it tells me I have to buy the doughnuts that I want to donate. This makes no sense. I have more than enough on hand to donate.

not sure if they keep track per se. of how many you bought ( or used a coupon to get some  bought by someone else and sent as a gift box )  .......................

or if buying just ONCE opens the door and after that you do not have to worry about buying ever again

Yeah, I've ended up buying the starter pack (with just one day to spare before it expired). But now I don't know if I'm limited to only ever donating 100 because that's how many I bought. Or if I use those doughnuts for other things will I only be able to use the unspent ones on the team (so if out of the 100 I spend 40 on items/whatever, can I then only donate 60)? Or whether I'm now free and clear to donate whenever I want and even if I end up donating more that 100 I'll be fine without having to buy additional doughnuts.

There really needs to be some sort of FAQ or manual for this game.

Sorry guys.  The way they have it set up is that only purchased donuts can be donated.

That still doesn't answer the latest set of questions though. I'll break it down a bit.

Say I have 20 doughnuts on hand. I buy 40 more doughnuts, to unlock the ability to donate to the team.

Can I then donate ONLY 40 doughnuts ever, or can I donate up to 60 (plus more later on)?

What if I spend 25 doughnuts but gain other "free" ones - can I then only ever donate 35, or can I donate up to how many I have?

LittleOne's answer implies that I would only ever be able to donate 40 (or fewer, if I spent some) and that would be it. But since the answer doesn't address the actual questions I asked, there's still a lot of ambiguity.

I think the systems must keep track of how many donuts you buy.  I don't believe it is an "unlocking" process.  If money was spent, then you can donate.  For instance, if you bought 100 donuts, but you have 150 because of donuts earned, you still can only donate 100 donuts.

After close examination with authoritative sources, LO is correct in her information...

you can donated only as many donuts as you have purchased (less the number you may have already donated.)

'earned'/won donuts cannot be donated, ever, so you might as well spend them either to improve your stats or on boosters, or to unlock wardrobe/storage slots, etc..

I've heard that they have it restricted to purchased donuts to keep people from making more heroes just to donate more donuts. Still sucks that we can't donate earned donuts but it makes sense and I don't really see a way they could fix the issue. Oh and to the person who said:

"Yeah, I've ended up buying the starter pack (with just one day to spare before it expired). But now I don't know if I'm limited to only ever donating 100 because that's how many I bought. I purchased 100 donuts myself today and spent 99 to unlock multitasking. I'm now left with 120 after that and when I go to donate to my team, it still says I own 100 donuts so, apparently, spending some elsewhere doesn't take away from the amount you can donate, at least as long as you keep your amount over the number you bought and you can only ever donate as many as you've bought. I'm not sure whether the number I can donate would go down if I don't have at least 100 at a time though. I'll be sure to post again if I find out. :)

Let's say you buy the starter pack.  That means you have bought 100 donuts.  Then let's say you earned 20 donuts in the honor tournament.  If you donate 100 donuts to your team, you will not be able to go back and donate 20.

I know that directly bought donuts and "cashed in gift boxes" ( even if bought by someone else ) through the coupon count toward donate-able donuts

any others that go toward the donate-able count?

I think Little One has it pegged and explains it pretty plainly.  If you buy donuts, starter pack or any other amount, they are donateable to your team.  Any other donuts that you earn from the game without paying for them, from whatever source, are NOT donateable to your team.  Keep track if you have to so you have a donut count of paid for and earned.  I do and it makes it simpler for me.

not 100% sure, but the "earned donuts" through outside sources ( surveys, buying something and so on ) you can donate
