I think that it would be cool if there was equipment that was completely useless, but if you found all of the pieces in its collection they would combine to make really strong unique hard to get equipment. I also think that these items should be upgraded so that when you find the next pieces in the collection you could upgrade that equipment again. I think that this would be something that could take up its own special mission; if you complete all stages of the special missions then you can combine all the items from the mission to get the special item.

Great idea! I HATE it when I have to throw away an epic item just 'cause a shower curtain has better stats. Instead I shall fuse them!!!
